DEARBORN - Water conservation is a popular topic today. From being concerned about the lack of water in drought-stricken regions to reminding the kids to turn off the water while they brush their teeth, personal consciousness of water as a valuable resource is growing.
Through a Global Water Management Initiative which began more than a decade ago, Ford has been able to reduce its global manufacturing water use by 60 percent, or approximately 10 billion gallons. The graphic below outlines global water demand trends, the successes and goals of the Ford initiative and highlights ways that the company continues to seek water reduction in its operations.
