PRAGUE, Czech Republic - World rowing champion Ondrej Synek swapped his boat for a Ford C-MAX when he made a video for Ford Real World Challenges online campaign.
The skiff rower put Ford’s Active Park Assist technology to the test, trying to park right on the edge of a pontoon floating on the river Vltava.
The dare-devil feat was devised by Czech Technical University student Tomas Zaruba and was filmed by Ogilvy&Mather advertising agency.
“Synek’s first task was to park his Ford on the very edge of the pontoon,” said Katerina Rauschertova, Account Director of Ogilvy&Mather. “He’s an experienced driver but he couldn’t park on the edge so he took his hands off the steering wheel and let the car park itself.”
Marek Tresl, brand manager, Ford Czech Republic, said the idea was very clever. “It’s quite a thrilling video. In the end of the video Synek finally manages to park his car, but he’s so stressed that he decides to go rowing – with the beautiful scenery of Charles Bridge and Prague Castle in the background.”
The video will appear on YouTube and Facebook along with other footage from the Real World Challenges series.
