Wildtrak takes CrossFit to the Next Level

DATE: Will be calculated from "Release Start Date" field.

MANILA, Philippines — What does it mean when the Ford Ranger Wildtrak and CrossFit Manila partner up for the 2013 CrossFit Open? It means things are going to get tough.

Crossfit is a strength and conditioning program that constantly varies high intensity, functional movement with the stated goal of improving fitness. It combines workouts like sprinting, weightlifting, carrying heavy objects and many bodyweight exercises, which demands an all-out physical exertion. This makes it the perfect partner for our range-topping Ford Ranger Wildtrak.

Coming off the recent Philippine launch of the Wildtrak at the 2013 Manila International Auto Show earlier this month, Ford Philippines threw in a fun and interesting final challenge for the fitness participants of the 2013 CrossFit Open.
After a day of grueling workouts under the sun, the final work out of the day had top participants push the Ford Ranger Wildtrak for the men’s division and the Ford Focus for the women’s division as far as they could, across a grassy field within a 1-minute mark. Just think, the curb weight of the Wildtrak is easily 1,916 kilograms making this no easy feat for any fitness junkie.
Top overall winners , Russell Eustacio from the Male med RX division and Rochelle Sumagang from the Female med RX, each won a weekend test drive with the Wildtrak and Focus with an overnight stay in a beach resort in Batangas for two.
CrossFit participants also had a chance to view the iconic Ford Mustang, tough Ford Ranger XLT and the popular Ford Explorer Limited, which were all on display during the whole day event.
“CrossFit has been making waves in Manila for its tough and intense workouts, just like our range-topping all new Ranger Wildtrak. The event was the perfect way to showcase our popular Ford vehicles in cool and unique lifestyle setting,” said Anika Salceda-Wycoco, Communications Manager, Ford Philippines.
“In my opinion, the first ever Crossfit competition to prove who is the fittest in the country was a big success.  We saw Crossfitters from all over the country - Bacolod, Iloilo, Manila, Batangas, and Pampaga - compete in one giant Crossfit playground, make new friends and excel in the sport that they love,” said Miggy Buncio, CrossFit MNL.
