Warriors in Pink Tour NYC with Love and Cupcakes

DATE: Will be calculated from "Release Start Date" field.

NEW YORK - October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and on Oct. 8 and 9 Ford Warriors in Pink (WIP) will travel around New York City with actor Gilles Marini in a branded Love and Cupcakes WIP food truck, passing out free cupcakes and selling WIP apparel.

Marini, who has appeared on television in Dancing with the Stars, Switched at Birth and Brothers and Sisters, as well as in the Sex and the City movie, will be promoting the “United with Love” T-shirt that he created for the 2013 WIP collection.

A full 100 percent of the net proceeds from the T-shirt will go to the Dr. Susan Love Research Foundation, which is dedicated to finding the cause of breast cancer in order to eliminate the disease and create a world without it.  Retailing for $20, the T-shirt can be purchased now at www.fordcares.com

The Love and Cupcakes WIP tour will stop at six high-traffic locations in New York City.  If you live in the area or have family or friends there who would like to meet Marini, enjoy a cupcake and purchase WIP apparel, you can find out where the food truck will be by visiting the Warriors in Pink Facebook page.

Like so many, Marini has been personally affected by breast cancer.  He watched his sister-in-law battle the disease, and he is passionate about the cause.

“No mother, aunt, sister or daughter should have to hear the words, ‘You have breast cancer,’” said Marini.  “I want to help put an end to breast cancer.  Too many lives have been lost already.”

This year marks Ford’s 19th year of support for breast cancer awareness and the company’s dedication to making a difference 365 days a year by encouraging women to become informed and visit their doctors, and educating them about how early detection saves lives.

“Ford Warriors in Pink will continue to be a united force in the fight against breast cancer,” said Tracy Magee, Ford experiential marketing manager. “As long as there are women and men out there battling breast cancer, we will be here fighting alongside them.”
