 Virtual World Drives Exposure for Ford Focus ST; Presents Consumers Unique Experience

BRENTWOOD, England – Ford’s award winning Focus ST is the biggest car star in the very latest addition to the Need for Speed video game franchise – Most Wanted.

The new game, which is produced by Electronics Arts (EA) Games and out now, is a powerful marketing tool for Ford as Focus ST is the most prominent vehicle in it.

“Having our vehicles in games gives consumers the first chance to drive and experience our vehicles before they go off to a dealership,” said Brian McClary, Ford Social & Emerging Media Analyst. “By providing gamers a product they enjoy racing through a gaming console they see a glimpse of the excitement they would feel driving a real car down their street.”

The 2013 Focus ST was first seen last year in Forza 4, as part of a licensing effort with Microsoft. This year, the Focus ST was featured in Forza Horizons, and now Most Wanted. Whether it is a marketing effort or a licensing effort in which companies are coming to Ford to get vehicles like the Focus ST in their game, the exposure of Ford vehicles in games drives consumer awareness and perception.
