 Valencia plant hosts Wholesale Conference

VALENCIA, Spain, November 2, 2009 -- The Valencia Assembly Plant opened its doors to dealership staff from around Spain earlier this month, as Ford of Spain hosted its Wholesale Conference event as part of its Parts Plus programme.

The event aimed at reviewing the strategy and the specific programmes to promote the Wholesale results. The Parts Plus programme has experienced impressive growth rates since its inception in 2001.

Carlos Óvilo, Aftersales director, Carlos Artola, Aftersales marketing manager and Jesús Vega, Wholesales coordinator, presented the results and the goals to be achieved by year's end and in 2010. They then presented an overview of the market's situation and forecast its evolution. This was followed by a review of the business strategy stressing the opportunities that lie ahead, in which they detailed the goals of the action plans for every region and dealer. Several long-term suppliers presented their products in detail during the event.

The attendees also enjoyed a guided tour of the plant and a test drive of five Tri-Fuel vehicles and one unit of the new Transit Connect. Manuel González de Diego, manager of Service Engineering, introduced them to Ford's new range of Commercial Vehicles.
