ACME, Mich. - Hau Thai-Tang, group vice president, Global Purchasing, addressed Ford retirees last week at a luncheon in Traverse City, Michigan, after speaking at the Center for Automotive Research (CAR) Management Briefing Seminar at the Grand Traverse Resort.
Introduced by Chuck Wright, Northern Michigan Ford Retiree Group (NMFRG) chairman, Thai-Tang spoke to nearly 150 retirees and provided business and product updates covering four key areas:
- One Ford and the Global Product Strategy – The continuation of the One Ford plan and commitment to delivering a balanced, global portfolio.
- Leveraging Scale – How the company is leveraging scale to be successful globally, regionally and locally.
- Ford Product Review – A review of the Ford brand product portfolio and key new products coming to market. An all-new 2015 Ford F-150 also was on display at the event.
- Lincoln Motor Company – Updates on the Lincoln plan, including its launch in China and product line review.
Following the business update, Thai-Tang took questions from the audience. Retirees in attendance were most interested in learning more about the status of Ford of Europe’s transformation plan, the company’s decision to use military-grade, high-strength, aluminum alloy on the new F-150, how Ford is advancing the SYNC® infotainment system and the company’s recall process.
Following Thai-Tang’s address, Mike Skinner from the Henry Ford Heritage Association provided a Ford history presentation to attendees.
