ST. PETERSBURG, Russia - The FordSollers plant in Vsevolozhsk, near St. Petersburg, recently hosted a visit from the US Congressional Staff Delegation from the Senate Finance Committee and US Consul General Bruce I. Turner.
During the visit, the president and CEO of FordSollers Holding, Ted Cannis, delivered a presentation on Ford operations in Russia, highlighting the company’s long-established presence in the country, the creation of the FordSollers joint venture, the future opportunities in Russia and the impact on US trade including the launch of Explorer production in Elabuga. The discussion also covered a number of topics including Russia’s pending accession to the WTO in 2012.
After the presentation, Ilya Butin, general director of the FordSollers manufacturing facility in Vsevolozhsk, took the guests on a tour of the plant.
The visit provided an opportunity for FordSollers to demonstrate the success of its operations in Russia to the US visitors.
