DEARBORN - The combination of sales from the Lincoln MKZ and the Lincoln MKC, which hit dealer lots the last weekend in May, helped boost Lincoln’s May sales by 21 percent, increasing Lincoln’s year-to-date sales performance also 21 percent.
"Lincoln is now the fastest growing full-line luxury brand in America, through May of this year," said Erich Merkle, U.S. sales analyst, Ford Motor Company.
With 3,714 vehicles sold, MKZ had its best May ever, coming on the heels of MKZ previous best sales months ever this past March. Year-to-date sales of the MKZ were up 42 percent.
As the MKC hit showrooms during the last weekend in May, the small premium-utility vehicle entered the market with 677 vehicles sold in the last few days of the month.
Sales continued to build momentum, as the brand kicked off MKC sales in the fastest growing luxury segment in the U.S.
Lincoln is currently hosting media drive events for the MKC in Santa Barbara, California, and is preparing to launch the refreshed Lincoln Navigator in the next few months.
