MOSCOW - The Ford Transit has been awarded Russia’s prestigious Golden Klaxon award as the best commercial vehicle of 2011.
The award was presented by Klaxon, a Russian bi-weekly automotive newspaper.
Fourteen awards are presented annually, covering most car segments in the market. Award winners are chosen by a jury comprising Klaxon professionals.
The awards were first presented in 2001. Ford won its first Golden Klaxon in 2002, for its outstanding achievements in business and its investment in Russia. Since then, the company has received a further sixth Golden Klaxons (2003 - Focus C-MAX as best minivan; 2004 – Focus; 2006 – Galaxy; 2008 Fiesta; 2010 - Grand C MAX and 2011 – Ford Transit).
