DEARBORN - The submissions have been made, they’ve been narrowed by a committee, and now it’s up to the people to decide who wins a 2013 Ford Escape from Ford Motor Credit Company.
The company just completed the entry phase of its Escape Your Payments
contest – hosted on the Ford Escape Facebook page
– in which consumers were invited to submit a photo and describe why they should win a Ford Escape. Some of the entries were comedic and some serious. All 2,136 of them were weighed carefully for originality, creativity and quality to produce 10 finalists in the U.S. and 10 in Canada.
Now, it’s up to the people. The winner will be determined by who receives the most votes between now and Jan. 13. Anyone can view the finalists and vote
on the Ford Escape Facebook page.
This fresh approach to reaching consumers also has even greater potential. More than 2,800 of the 27,000 visitors to the page during the contest period asked to receive more information about Ford Credit, Ford and the company’s vehicles.
“These are people who have told us they want us to contact them, to tell them about our vehicles,” said Denny McClure, Ford Credit New Vehicle Launch manager. “This opt-in list is an exciting opportunity for Ford and Ford Credit, as well as the dealers, to start building relationships with a new customer base.”
The contest was a first for Ford Credit, which is working continuously on new ways to support Ford sales. Organizers estimate the contest will have produced millions of consumer impressions through numerous media by the time the vehicles are awarded in February. One Escape will be awarded in the U.S. and one in Canada.
