MANILA, Philippines —Ford Philippines employees have had a serious dose of teambuilding. The staff had the rare opportunity to meet every other team member, work together and bring forth their visions of Ford’s future in the Philippines.
A special one-day workshop was held for all employees by Ford Philippines management to generate company-wide team support for the new organization and cascade the Company’s new Vision, Mission and Strategic Priorities.
The objective of the day was for the team to re-launch the organization as a National Sales Company moving forward. As it ended local manufacturing operations in December, the challenge for the team was to find the best way to come together as an organization focused on the Company’s Marketing, Sales and Service operations. The team-building activities were a first for Ford Philippines, with employees coming together in an effort for a fresh start.
After welcoming remarks by Ford Philippines president Randy Krieger, the activities of the day started with “Speed Dating” where employees got to know each other better.
“It was awesome to have met everyone in FGP! In spite of the short time working through the activity, I discovered how the team can come up with great ideas quickly. I’m glad to be part of such a talented team!” said Herbert Haber, Brand Specialist.
Groups of employees then took part in the “Newspaper Headline” activity during which team members had to imagine the future of Ford in 2016 and present their visions in a creative way.
The final activity was “Bridge-Building,” the goal of which was to build the strongest bridge possible using only newspaper and tape, bringing home the importance of teamwork and leadership.
“It was a fun activity that brought the participants closer together as one team. Definitely something we need as we go further and achieve our goals in 2013,” said Ryan Lorenzo, Sales Manager.
The day was peppered with presentations on Ford Philippines’ new Vision and Mission and its plan to Go Further in 2013 and beyond. The Human Resources team also presented the Team Effectiveness Concept, after which employees discussed how they envision the Ford Philippines team to operate as ONE in a new working environment, in light of the upcoming office move.
The team building ended with a specific action plan and next steps to be taken by the Ford Philippines team over the succeeding months as they continue their transition to a national sales company and move to the new corporate headquarters in the third quarter of the year.
“The teambuilding activity was a great way to show the high-spirited new Ford Philippines team how to work together effectively and inspire them to achieve our vision and mission as One Team. It was fun-filled day with impromptu presentations and candid discussions, but most of all, it was nice to get to know the team even better,” said Josie Gonzalez, Government Affairs Manager.
