BRENTWOOD, UK – Ford of Europe gave media unprecedented insight into the MyKey feature debuting on all-new Fiesta during a dedicated webinar hosted earlier this week.
Approximately 60 media from across Europe logged on to learn more about Ford’s MyKey technology. As well as watching an informative video, they got to put questions to key Ford personnel about the system.
The media group included both social and automotive media, plus attendees from large insurance and driving organisations, such as The AA in the UK.
Ford spokesperson Debbie Norris said: “MyKey is really capturing media attention. The webinar was the perfect platform for us to show a large audience how MyKey works, the thinking behind the system, as well as giving guests the chance to ask questions to our experts. Already, we’re seeing excellent coverage from this event both online and in traditional print media.”
Ford’s exclusive MyKey technology enables owners to program a key that restricts the top speed, reduces the maximum volume of audio system and even disables the audio system altogether if driver and passengers are not using safety belts.
It can prevent the driver from deactivating safety technologies and enables owners to programme chimes to sound at set points between 70-140 km/h, prevents seatbelt reminders from being disabled and delivers an earlier low-fuel warning.
