DEARBORN - Lincoln will be part of the most anticipated television premiere this year on Sunday when AMC's “Mad Men” begins its fifth season. Fans have waited 17 months to catch up with Don Draper and his cohorts at Sterling Cooper Draper Pryce.
A customized Lincoln vignette featuring “Mad Men” star John Slattery will run once before the season premiere, right after AMC's Movie of the Week. And, the new 30-second spot for the 2013 Lincoln MKS will run following the Mad Men premiere. The vignette and ad will run each of the next 13 weeks during the show.
If you need an appetizer before Sunday, the current "Heritage" edition of Newsweek, featuring the cast of Mad Men on the cover, has a vintage Lincoln ad. The ad includes a special watermark created by Digimarc, which creates digital identities for several forms of media, that can be scanned by Smartphone users to view more about Lincoln design and where it is headed.
The new full-size Lincoln MKS, on sale this spring, sports an updated, sleeker style that headlines a range of improvements, including better handling, increased power, improved fuel efficiency, additional standard equipment, more refinement and new technologies that help drivers reduce accident risks.
"Mad Men," a critically acclaimed show, has won 15 Emmys, including wins for Outstanding Drama Series — the first basic cable series to win in that category.
