South Africa Celebrates New Vehicle Launches with Employees

DATE: Will be calculated from "Release Start Date" field.

JOHANNESBURG, South Africa — Ford Motor Company of South Africa (FMCSA) employees recently attended the much awaited launch of the new Ford Fiesta, Kuga and Transit in Johannesburg.

Employees of the Silverton Assembly Plant located east of Pretoria, took part in an internal competition and winners were treated to an exciting and educational day out with the three new additions to the Ford family. They were taken to the “The Rock” raceway, in Brakpan, south of Johannesburg by coach.

Once there, the employees were divided into three groups and given a presentation on each new vehicle. They were also given a chance to try out the new Fiesta 1.0 EcoBoost on the race track and the new Kuga and Transit on the open road.
“Under normal circumstances we would never get an opportunity to drive these great cars. In a way Ford took the initiative to allow the “masses” to experience the joys of a vehicle launch and to also actually drive them. Excellent initiative and should be repeated in future,” said Colin Bollau, Manager Engineering Services and Systems.

Employees got to try out all three newly launched vehicles.
