 Protesters Disrupt Cologne Meeting

DATE: Will be calculated from "Release Start Date" field.

COLOGNE, Germany - A meeting took place yesterday at Ford’s Cologne facility between Ford management and Ford’s European Works Council.

At the time of the meeting, protesters, mainly workers from the Ford Genk factory, forced their way into the Ford Cologne (Niehl) premises. With the support of the police and Ford’s own security staff, the situation was brought under control and was de-escalated.

In a statement issued to the media, the company said that while it understood the impact that its European business transformation plan has on people and respect their right to peaceful demonstrations, it is disappointed that some of the protesters used force to get access to the plant.
