HANOI, Vietnam – The popular Ford Transit commercial vehicle is entering a new era in its successful journey in Vietnam, with extensive improvements to ensure it remains the segment leader and offers even more comfort for both passengers and drivers.
Interior and exterior, back to front, on the surface and under the skin, every area of Ford’s popular mini-bus has been improved. An elegant two-tone dashboard with the relocation of the logical buttons makes it more convenient, while the beige interior design brings a relaxing feeling to customers.
The Transit's manual six-way driver seat adjust with armrest provides added comfort on longer trips, while the backrest of the rear seat can be adjusted according to the tilt of each individual seat, giving full comfort to passengers.
Major improvements have also been made to the interior of the new Ford Transit. A new, stronger air conditioning system has been integrated into the ceiling panel, which gives the van a more premium look and feel.
The new Ford Transit is equipped with Turbo Diesel Engine 2.4L Duratorq TDCi, allowing direct fuel injection using the path with dual camshafts and generates a capacity of 138Hp and torque of 375Nm, a very strong and fuel-efficient technology.
Technology Turbo boost controller off (VGT) for Transit helps increase engine power while producing large torque at low rpm, reducing inertia and improving the ability to save fuel. With the turbo 2.4L TDCi engine working harmoniously with the six-speed transmission, Ford's advanced technological factors help the car run smoothly and efficiently.
“The Transit's extensive upgrade is the result of Ford’s focus on further enhancing customer satisfaction by listening to our customers,” explained Laurent Charpentier, Managing Director of Ford Vietnam.
“In addition to a vehicle that was pleasant, safe and comfortable to drive, customers told us their mini-bus was a statement about their company, so it not only needed to be functional, reliable and durable, but stylish too,” he added.
The new Transit builds on its success with an even more comprehensive list of safety features, including a strong chassis, standard air bags, four-wheel disc brakes with ABS and EBD system. Furthermore, Transit is also equipped with wireless three-point safety for the entire front seat and two-point safety belts for each rear seat.
The floor is equipped with a rubber layer for added safety in the case of a fire. An electrical controlled mirror design, combined with large mirrors, increases visibility for drivers.
“The improvements and enhanced features of the new Transit will help support its leading position in the market, and reaffirms our commitment to continue bringing the best-in-class vehicles and services to our Vietnamese customers,” said Charpentier.
The new Transit is now available in Vietnam at VND 798 million, including VAT (USD 38,310).
The Ford Transit has been produced in Vietnam since November 1997, with 10,000 vehicles sold to date.
