NEW DELHI, India – In celebration of Ford Figo sales topping 100,000 units in July, Ford India held a contest to give owners a chance to express their feelings for the popular small car. 

The ‘100,000 Smiles with Figo’ campaign was a social media engagement contest where Figo owners were asked to share pictures of happy moments spent with their vehicles along with a caption of up to 60 characters.

The contest was open to Figo drivers from July 20 to August 20. Entries from across India poured in and were uploaded to the Ford Figo Facebook site.

Each week, a panel of judges selected the best photo and caption. The weekly winner was awarded an iPod Nano. At the end of the contest, an overall winner was selected to receive the grand prize of an iPad. Special Ford merchandise was also presented to photos worthy of honourable mention. 

The ‘100,000 Smiles with Figo’ contest took place during a busy festival season in India, and over two popular national holidays, Janamashtami and Independence Day. As many people travel during this period, the timing of the contest created great photo opportunities for Figo drivers.
