LAGOS, Nigeria – The winner of the inaugural season of “The Next Titan” reality television show – co-sponsored by one of Ford’s authorized dealers in Nigeria – took home a Ford Focus as her prize for beating out 15 other contestants.
Upon receiving the Focus, Iroghama Ogbeifun promised to be a reliable and worthy ambassador for the Ford brand.
“The Next Titan” is a business-oriented and entrepreneurial-mentoring series developed to educate and train young men and women to become business owners rather than job seekers. The objective is to empower people by creating opportunities and nurturing small and medium scale enterprises.
The young entrepreneurs competed for support and investments for their businesses, working in teams on business-driven tasks under the guidance of a project manager. They used their ideas, creativity and business acumen to win a variety of challenges, with one person being eliminated from the competition every week.
One of the challenges involved sales tasks at Briscoe Ford. The teams spent a week at Briscoe’s Lekki office getting immersed in the Ford brand through trainings, videos and walk-around demonstrations prior to taking on the challenge. Their efforts resulted in more than 50 prospects for Briscoe’s sales team to contact. Coincidentally, Ogbeifun was the leader of the team that won that challenge.
“The Next Titan” was shown weekly on three national television stations, with each elimination episode uploaded to YouTube, generating thousands of views and comments. The managing director of R.T. Briscoe Nigeria, Seyi Onajide, presented the Focus to Ogbeifun. He said sponsoring the youth development project was an effective means of enhancing the Ford brand’s visibility in Nigeria. “We are proud to be associated with Next Titan program, which motivated the budding entrepreneurs of Nigeria. The contestants had to contend with long hours, grueling deadlines and intense scrutiny from their onsite supervisors and the judges, and we commend their efforts.”
