New Ford Fiesta makes its Philippines debut

DATE: Will be calculated from "Release Start Date" field.

Manila -- More than 100 media representatives turned out at the upscale One Esplanade Convention Hall overlooking Manila Bay on Monday for the unveiling of the new Ford Fiesta in the Philippines.

In addition to the press, VIP guests and dealer partners joined the Ford Philippines team to celebrate the arrival of the globally popular Fiesta ahead of the 3rd Philippine International Motor Show that kicks-off on Thursday. The Fiesta, which will arrive in showrooms in the Philippines starting in October, will be the star attraction on the Ford stand this week.

“Today we launch the vehicle that will change the way our customers see and feel the Ford difference. The Ford Fiesta is testament to our commitment to offer only the best,” said Ford Philippines President Randy Krieger.

“The arrival of the Fiesta marks yet another milestone for us as we reveal the first product under the ONE Ford plan in the Philippines and focus on delivering great products, building a strong business, and contributing to a better world," added Krieger.

He was followed by Steven Tan, vice president for Sales and Marketing, Ford Philippines.

''This evening the Ford brand starts a new chapter in the Philippines with the official introduction of the Ford Fiesta,'' Tan said. ''Tonight we are finally revealing the product and announcing the price.''

Tan went on to tell the crowd about the Fiesta's exclusive kinetic design, engaging interior, drive quality and safety features.

After a brief presentation by Dave Macasadia, vice president for Customer Service Operations, Tan returned to the stage for the moment everyone had been waiting for.

''With all this I'm sure you're wondering about Fiesta's price,'' Tan said, before finally announcing the Fiesta's price tag, which starts at PHP 670,000 (USD 14,830) for the entry-level 1.4-litre Sedan MT.

''Our top of the range Hatchback 1.6-litre PowerShift Automatic Sport with Bluetooth Voice Command tops out at PHP 816,000 (USD 18,060),'' he added. ''These suggested retail Fiesta prices are positioned at par or better than equivalent competitive product offerings of 1.3-litre or 1.5-litre engines.''

Local Ford Fiesta enthusiasts who have been eagerly anticipating the arrival of the Ford Fiesta will be able to see it on display at the Philippine International Motor Show from August 19-22 at the World Trade Center.
