– The jury members for the International Van of the Year award are in Munich, Germany today to spend two days testing and evaluating the new Ford Transit Custom and Tourneo Custom models.
The IVOTY award is the most sought-after trophy in the European commercial vehicle industry. It is presented annually to the van which, in the opinion of the judges, makes the most significant contribution to the efficient carriage of goods by road.
Ford has won the award three times since the award was introduced in 1992.
The expert and independent jury comprises journalists who write for 24 leading national commercial vehicle publications across Europe. Each jury member has 12 points to allocate to any of the list of nominated vehicles; not more than 7 points can be allocated to any one model.
The all-new Transit Custom and Tourneo Custom are the most technologically advanced vehicles in their segments ever to wear the Ford blue oval badge. Both introduce first-in-sector safety features, plus a comprehensive suite of driver assistance technologies.
With best-in-class fuel economy and unrivalled load carrying ability, Transit Custom builds on the brand’s legendary flexibility and toughness with a car-like interior and excellent driving dynamics; Tourneo Custom will appeal to personal users, lifestyle and executive shuttle customers with its highly flexible seating system and luxurious interior design.
The IVOTY event comes ahead of central European media drive in Munich, starting on Monday.
