PARIS, France – Ford’s new Transit Connect this week makes its French debut at the international building exhibition BATIMAT in Paris.
The 2014 International Van of The Year is the star attraction on a Ford stand which also features a Ford Ranger equipped with a prototype Gruau tipper body.
Transit Connect is now available to order in France in a choice of two body types - van and through cabin. With two different lengths (L1 and L2 versions), load volume ranges from 2.9 m3 (3.6 m3 with its steel partition) up to 3.7 m3 (4.4 m3 exploiting the flexible front passenger seat).
It also offers best-in-class payload of more than 1,000 kg on some versions and is the first vehicle in its class equipped with Active City Stop collision mitigation technology. Other driver assistance features include Ford SYNC system with Emergency Assistance.
Customers can chose from three 1.6-litre Duratorq TDCi diesel engines or opt for one of two EcoBoost petrol engines, including a 150hp 1.6-litre version mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission.
BATIMAT, one of the world’s largest construction industry exhibitions, is staged at Paris Nord Villepinte. The Ford stand is located in Hall 7, location J11.
