 New Ford Ranger Wins Prestigious Russian Award

MOSCOW, Russia - New Ford Ranger has been named the best vehicle in its class at the annual automotive Grand Prix “Za rulem” award ceremony, staged in Moscow.
 
More than 40,000 readers of the automotive “Za rulem” and “Kupi auto” magazines, “Za rulem - Regions” newspaper and www.zr.ru website, were asked to chose their favourite pickup. Ranger, with 175972 points, beat Mazda’s BT-50 and SsangYong’s Actyon Sports.
 
The Grand Prix “Za rulem” awards have been given annually since 1994. This year, 49 vehicles in 13 segments were nominated for the awards and competed for the titles of the best new cars on the Russian automotive market and the Golden Pegasus prizes.
 
The vehicles were judged on seven criteria: “driving quality”, “utility”, “price/quality”, “comfort”, “advanced technologies”, “prestige of the model” and “design”. Votes were cast from August 1, 2012 to November 30, 2012.
