LAS VEGAS - With their background in international business and exporting, dealers in Ford Export and Growth markets are uniquely positioned to help E&G achieve its goal of becoming a great export company.
To better utilize their knowledge and expertise, Export and Growth announced the development of a new Dealer Strategy Board during its annual Dealer Business Meeting March 5-7 in Las Vegas.
The strategy board is designed to provide an open dialogue between dealers and E&G management and to obtain their insight and input. Director Hal Feder says the intent is to work collaboratively on strategic issues. “The board will be advisory in nature rather than policy setting. Its focus will be on key business drivers, issues we can control and influence.”
Ten dealers were appointed to terms of 18-24 months and will meet twice a year. “We’re seeking their thoughts on how to prioritize strategic issues and look forward to leveraging their expertise and best practices,” Feder says.
In a business group composed of four distinct regions (Ford Middle East, Caribbean and Central America, Sub-Saharan Africa and Asia Pacific), differing business practices are to be expected. Therefore, one of the objectives of the board is to find a way to ensure global programs work in every region.
The expectation is the board will help maintain and strengthen the positive working relationship already in place between E&G dealers and Ford Motor Company, enabling dealers to work more closely with senior leadership to advance E&G priorities within the company.
The board will be comprised of representatives from the following dealerships:
Dealership and Country
Al Jazirah Vehicles Agencies Co., Saudi Arabia
Al Tayer Motors, United Arab Emirates
Coscharis Motors, Nigeria
Delek Motors, Israel
Grupo Viamar, Dominican Republic
Mayaguez Ford, Puerto Rico
RMA Group, Cambodia/Laos
Sime Darby Auto ConneXion, Malaysia
Sunin Motors, South Korea
The first E&G Dealer Strategy Board meeting will take place in mid-May in Cologne, Germany. A second meeting is planned in late September in conjunction with the Paris Motor Show.
