 Navigator Previewed in Detroit

DATE: Will be calculated from "Release Start Date" field.

Editor’s Note: Rona Smart is a Lincoln Motor Company Employee Club member who was selected to attend the Detroit reveal of the Lincoln Navigator as a part of a club contest.

DETROIT - To see the new 2015 Lincoln Navigator media were greeted at the Max M. Fisher Music Center with valet service and a walk down the red carpet. Once inside, guests enjoyed hors d'oeuvres and refreshments, with the ambient lighting setting the perfect mood to enjoy the music being played by the six piece string and wind ensemble.

We were not just there to see the refreshed Lincoln Navigator; we were there to enjoy the experience and lifestyle associated with the Lincoln brand. As with Lincoln, it is not just about buying a car, it is about the buying the experience. Guests were able to socialize and soak up the atmosphere before lights were dimmed and the luxurious Navigator was revealed.

Making upgrades, while maintaining the aspects of the Navigator that has garnered an unprecedented loyalty rate of more than 70 percent, was quite a task. The Design team delivered. This refresh of the Navigator incorporates the split-wing grille, as seen on the redesigned MKZ and and newly introduced MKC, making it a part of the new Lincoln family of products.

Key interior upgrades include a hand-wrapped leather instrument panel, and the new Lincoln steering wheel wrapped in Wollsdorf leather that provides drivers with a thicker grip, but a softer touch. An 8-inch LCD display in the centerstack will enable users to enjoy the latest SYNC with MyLincoln Touch, but also will give passengers traditional knob controls. Under the hood features a more powerful and fuel-efficient 3.5-liter EcoBoost engine with six-speed automatic transmission.

Exterior upgrades, including 20-inch machined aluminum wheels now being the standard, more accurately reflect our customer’s needs. Best-in-class towing and best-in-class cargo space are still something unique to Navigator.

This refresh stays true to the Lincoln brand, providing optimal cargo space for both people and packages alike, but the upgrades bring it in line with recent Lincoln offerings. The perfect blend of form and function; power and beauty; all present on the 2015 Lincoln Navigator.
