LAS VEGAS - The 2011 NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Funny Car Series has brought around a lot of changes for Ron Douglas, co-crew chief of the Castrol GTX High Mileage Ford Mustang. After Ashley Force Hood announced she was stepping back for the year, Douglas made the switch from daughter to father and is now behind 15-time champion John Force’s quest for a 16th title. Douglas talks about the changes and gives an update on Courtney Force’s Funny Car training.

Ford Retains WRC Lead In Portugal

LISBON, Portugal -   Ford Abu Dhabi World Rally Team retained the lead of the manufacturers' and drivers' standings in the FIA World Rally Championship in Portugal.  Jari-Matti Latvala and Miikka Anttila's third place in Rally de Portugal and fourth for team-mates Mikko Hirvonen and Jarmo Lehtinen, both in Ford Fiesta RS World Rally Cars, preserved the team's clear lead in the manufacturers' table.

IRWINDALE, Unites States –  For a guy who hasn’t regularly raced since 2007, Marcus Gronholm, quickly established himself in the Global RallyCross Championship (GRC). Gronholm, a two-time WRC champ who won the inaugural GRC SuperRally on Friday, never blinked in his domination of the GRC field capturing the Global RallyCross Championship AWD RallyCross finale and giving him a clean sweep of the weekend.  Gronholm won the six-car A Main Finale in the Best Buy Fiesta edging his Ford teammate Tanner Foust who came in second in the ROCKSTAR Fiesta.

BRISTOL, United States — Carl Edwards gave Kyle Busch all he could handle during the final 50 laps of Sunday’s Jeff Byrd 500 at Bristol Motor Speedway, passing Busch briefly on lap 474, before the losing the lead for good on the following lap, as Busch won his first NASCAR Sprint Cup race of the season.

BRISTOL, United States — Trevor Bayne, driver of the No. 21 Motorcraft Ford Fusion, will be making his second Homecoming in three weeks as he heads to Bristol, TN, for this weekend’s Jeff Byrd 500.  Bayne was in his hometown of Knoxville shortly after winning last month’s Daytona 500 and while he’s been going to Bristol since the age of five, this will mark his first time driving a NASCAR Sprint Cup Series car.  He spoke to Ford Racing recently about what this weekend means to him.

WEST HOLLYWOOD, United States — Two-time WRC champion Marcus Gronholm has agreed to drive the Best Buy Ford Fiesta for Olsbergs MSE in the opening round of the Global RallyCross championship at Irwindale Speedway March 26-27.  Gronholm, who drove two seasons for Ford in the World Rally Championship (2006-07), officially retired following the 2007 season.  Since then he has kept busy with one-off events like Pikes Peak International Hill Climb in 2009 and by running a handful of European RallyCross events.  Gronholm shared his thoughts on the GRC debut with Ford Racing.

In 2010 he made it to the final round only to lose to fellow Ford driver Tim Wilkerson. Needless to say the track in Gainesville, Florida holds a very special place for Tasca.
