Rally Prepared Stock Fiesta Wins 2WD Class at Sno*Drift

HILLMAN -- The Ford Fiesta is fun to drive. This weekend nobody had more fun than Dillon Van Way, an 18 year old college freshman, who drove his rally prepared stock Ford Fiesta to victory in the 2WD class at Sno*Drift, RallyCar’s Rally America National Championship season opener. Van Way won the 2WD class by one minute and eight seconds, marking the first 2WD class win for the Fiesta in North America competition.

ATLANTA -- This weekend RallyCar’s 2011 Rally America National Championship kicks off with the annual Sno*Drift Rally in snowy Atlanta, Michigan. Ford fanatics will turn their eyes to the 2WD class where 19-year-old Louisiana native Dillon Van Way will debut his 2011 Ford Fiesta. Van Way saw firsthand the potential of the Ford Fiesta last season and made the decision to switch for the 2011 season. This Week in Ford Racing caught up with the Louisiana State University freshman to chat about Sno*Drift and his new Ford Fiesta.

Over the next three weeks, leading up to the Daytona 500, Ford Racing will present a weekly recap of the milestone wins and other tidbits that have helped shape the manufacturer’s history in the sport.
