BRENTWOOD, UK - The Ford Mondeo covers more miles on Britain’s roads than any other vehicle. Racking up
over 15,000 miles annually, it completes nearly 600 miles more than the next most used car, the Volvo S80.
The figures are the result of new research by Warranty Direct. The company analysed 50,000 warranty policies on cars of three to ten years old to find Britain’s top ten mile munchers.
And the statistics show that even covering more than 15,000 miles annually, the Mondeo's reliability isn't diminished, as only 15 per cent require a warranty claim each year.
Volkswagen's Passat and the Audi A6 both also cover in excess of 14,000 miles, still well above the average of 12,000 miles.
Completing the top ten, all with annual mileages above 12,000, are the BMW 5 Series, Ford S-MAX, Chrysler 300C, Volvo XC70, Audi A6 Allroad and Nissan Pathfinder.
At the opposite end of the scale, small cars cover significantly less miles with the Nissan Micra taking the title of Britain's least used car, accumulating just 5,580 miles per year on average.
