HERMOSILLO, Mexico - Mark Fields, president of The Americas, visited Mexico’s Hermosillo Stamping and Assembly Plant (HSAP), where the Fusion and Lincoln MKZ are assembled, to celebrate a very important event: The Job #1 of the 2013 Fusion.
Mark reminded employees at the plant about the significance of this vehicle to Ford’s overall strategy: “It is critical to attain great success with this vehicle, so once again I want to thank you, and congratulate you for your efforts.”
The high point of an exciting kick-off event celebrating the production of the top seller vehicle in North America, occurred when Mark Fields drove the 2013 Fusion Job 1. Afterwards, Mark had the opportunity to chat with plant employees, where he thanked everyone for their hard work and great effort required in launching such a great product for the Company.
He also emphasized the importance of employees´ safety during the adjustment period of the new manufacturing process: “Work safely as you go through the acceleration curve, and please know that each and every one of you plays a very important role in the ONE Ford Plan and its success, so... felicitaciones!”
Later on, in a small Town Hall session, he gave a brief overview of the Company´s global situation and talked about the importance of Mexico, and in this particular case, the importance of the Hermosillo Plant to the whole corporation.
Overall, Mark was very pleased with employees´ commitment, and thrilled about the launch of the all-new 2013 Fusion. The Ford Fusion 2013 has everything it needs to be a top seller, as it embodies Ford Motor Company’s pillars: Quality, Green, Smart, and Safe.
This celebration confirms that Ford of Mexico continues to Go Further delivering top-quality products to Ford customers all around the world.
