DETROIT - MotorCities National Heritage Area, in partnership with the Henry Ford Heritage Association, Tourism Windsor Essex Pelee Island and the Detroit Metro Convention & Visitors Bureau, is proud to announce the launch of the Henry Ford Driving & Audio Tours as part of the Henry Ford 150 celebration. Spanning three years from 2013-2015, this celebration focuses on the unique contributions and legacy of Henry Ford.

The tours are part of the Two-Nation Vacation Destination marketing strategy helping to recognize Detroit’s and Windsor Essex’s enduring relationship through a strong, proud and much celebrated automotive heritage.

Be a part of this unprecedented behind-the-wheel journey where you will learn about “The Life and Times of Henry” through Metro Detroit, Michigan and “The Birthplace of the Canadian Automobile” in Windsor Essex, Ontario. Explore the accomplishments of Henry Ford from his humble beginnings to his grand experiments and his resting place. The tour celebrates his legacy and provides context to automotive enthusiasts and historians alike. While visiting each site, one can experience an enhanced educational and interactive tour, powered by OnCell, providing an easily-accessible audio-guided tour of U.S. sites. Each stop features a special piece of Ford history that you may not know.

To complement those tours, the Woodward Avenue Action Association is now offering “In the Steps of Henry” coach tours which follow the famed pioneer’s path along Woodward Avenue. Wheelhouse Detroit also provides monthly bike tours traversing Henry Ford’s journey from tinkerer to titan. For more information about all of the tours, visit henryford150.com/tours.
