– Strong customer loyalty is helping Ford to outperform the passenger car market in Germany, according to a report published by research firm Dataforce.
Dataforce analysis of customer loyalties and migration movements for the past 12 months shows that Ford retained 59 per cent of its previous non-corporate customers, while winning over six per cent of its customers from Opel and five per cent from VW.
Dataforce adds that Ford is one of only five manufacturers to attract more private customers in Germany in the past year, followed by Seat, Skoda, Kia and Dacia.
Last month Ford sold 16,144 passenger cars in Germany, an increase of 1.2 per cent compared to September 2012. In contrast, total car sales in Germany dropped 1.2 percent during the same period. Ford’s market share in the private buyer sector reached 7.2 per cent, a gain of 2.8 percentage points compared to September 2012.
