March of Dimes
Each year, more than half a million babies are born prematurely, and more than 120,000 babies are born with serious birth defects. Thankfully, the March of Dimes is there to help. March for Babies — the nation’s premier walking event — raises awareness and funds to support lifesaving research and innovative programs that help prevent premature birth and improve the health of babies.

Louisville Assembly Plant wants to raise awareness of the March of Dimes mission and of our participation in March for Babies.  Louisville Assembly Plant is looking for employees who have been touched by the March of Dimes mission to be Ambassadors and help spread the message about the organization’s efforts to improve the health of babies.

An Ambassador Family is one who has benefited from March of Dimes research or programs, and is willing to share their personal story with employees of our company by speaking at meetings and events.

You have been touched by the March of Dimes if:

  • You or your baby received a polio vaccine
  • Your baby was cared for in a newborn intensive care unit (NICU)
  • Your baby was born prematurely and received the advanced care that the March of Dimes has researched, funded and supported
  • You are aware that women of childbearing age should take a multivitamin with folic acid to decrease the risk of neural tube defects
  • You are aware that alcohol, tobacco and drug use during pregnancy can result in serious health problems for moms and babies
  • Your baby or a baby you know suffered from respiratory distress syndrome and received lifesaving lung surfactant therapy

If you believe you would be a great Ambassador, please contact Tami Hatfield at thatfie5@ford.com or 502-357-6141 to support our efforts  and march to help babies.
