DEARBORN - Lincoln February sales are up 36 percent from this point last year, selling 6,661 vehicles in the year’s shortest month. This also is the fifth straight month of positive sales growth; with four out of five in the double digits.
The Lincoln MKZ Hybrid enjoyed its second best sales month ever, selling 919 units. The best month ever for MKZ Hybrid was August 2010 when 998 vehicles were sold.
U.S. Sales Analyst Erich Merkle said that a year of new product launches should help the brand continue on its path to growth in 2014. “The Lincoln MKC is launching this summer in the industry’s fastest growing segment, the small premium utility vehicle market,” said Merkle.
Other products, like the Lincoln Navigator launching this fall will offer drivers a better powertrain with the addition the 3.5-liter EcoBoost engine that delivers more horsepower, fuel economy and torque.
“Don’t underestimate what EcoBoost can do for the Navigator. It will provide better performance, lighter weight and with Lincoln Drive Control and continuously controlled damping the new Navigator will have more improved handling characteristics,” said Merkle.
Outside of metro Detroit, the highest-selling Lincoln MKZ markets have been New York City following by Orlando and Miami.
“While the brand is showing encouraging results, the company recognizes there is much more work to be done. Lincoln’s progress is going to be measured over a period of years,” said Merkle.
