DEARBORN - For the month of August, Lincoln MKZ sales were up 10 percent with 3,652 vehicles sold making this a record August sales month for MKZ.
“Four out of the last five months MKZ has produced record sales,” said Erich Merkle, sales analyst. “Lincoln MKZ is really our first proof point for the brand and at this point, we’re very pleased with where we are with MKZ and we’re looking forward to more products coming for Lincoln.”
MKZ is making good traction in key luxury markets including Los Angeles and San Francisco with MKZ retail sales 83 percent and 48 percent, respectively, for August.
“One of the reasons MKZ is resonating so well in the region is the Lincoln MKZ Hybrid,” said Merkle. “Two-thirds of the MKZ sales in California are MKZ Hybrid vehicles. This is a large driver in our decision to up the production mix of MKZ Hybrid to 40 percent for the 2014 model year.”
In August, MKZ Hybrid saw its best performance all year with 791 vehicles sold.
Overall, the brand was up 1 percent in August.
“With the help of MKZ we’ve been able to stabilize Lincoln sales,” said Merkle. “Sales will continue to strengthen as we move further along into this year.”
