DEARBORN — Lincoln awarded three of its Facebook friends a test drive in the significantly refreshed 2013 MKS full-size sedan.
Earlier this year, Lincoln’s Facebook friends could enter their names into a sweepstakes that would give them the opportunity to drive the new 2013 MKS. Three semi-finalists were chosen — Brian Williams of Porter Ranch, Calif.; Sarah Karstens of Lenexa, Kan.; and Ed Royal of Cumming, Ga.
All three are luxury automobile consumers. Williams, an Infiniti driver, is looking to switch to an American luxury vehicle while Royal, a Lincoln Navigator driver, is interested in learning more about the brand’s full-size sedan.
Williams, Karstens and Royal enjoyed a weekend test drive with the MKS and recorded their experiences for the Lincoln Facebook page. Those videos were shared on the Lincoln Facebook earlier this week, where fans can vote for the best test drive video.
The video that receives the most votes will be announced May 7, and the winner will receive an all-expense paid trip to Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance. A “second chance winner” selected from contest voters also wins a trip to Pebble Beach.
The Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance was first held in 1950 and has become one of the world’s most recognized celebrations of the most beautiful and rare automobiles.
The annual event has raised more than $14 million for charity. The program includes the Pebble Beach Tour d’Elegance, Pebble Beach RetroAuto, Pebble Beach Motoring Classic and the Pebble Beach Auction.
“Social media is a great way for us to engage with consumers and create a dialogue that will serve as a catalyst to get them to think about the brand in a different way," says Jim Peters, Lincoln Brand and Alliances Manager. "Our Facebook sweepstakes gave us the opportunity to reach out to perspective customers with information on our new 2013 MKS. And, give three real-life luxury consumers a chance to get behind the wheel."
