MOSCOW, Russia – Take 10 Ford Rangers and 40 journalists to a remote part of Russia and you have one of the most demanding media events ever staged by Ford.
The journalists covered almost 750 km over demanding terrain, including 80 km on gravel and 10 km off-road, in temperatures as low as minus four degrees centigrade.
The Ranger fitted perfectly into Karelia's rugged and beautiful landscape and proved to be an ideal vehicle with huge potential for leisure activities and lifestyle choices.
Journalists' opinions varied according to what they valued most in a pickup, but all were impressed with the vehicle's design and versatility.
A writer for www.gazeta.ru summed up the view of many when he said:
"Ford Ranger is unusual for a truck, there is no heaviness or sluggishness, it is light to drive but you have the impression that he is ready for extreme manoeuvres. It is one of the most successful pick-ups on the Russian market."
