BANJA LUKA, Bosnia and Herzegovina – More than 500 soccer-mad girls and boys took part in a Ford-sponsored Mini Champions League tournament in Bosnia recently.
The event, now in its third year, was staged in the city of Banja Luka on the same day that Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund played in the Champions League Final at Wembley.
Spokesperson Ermina Bavcic said: “The boys and girls played at Trg Krajine in the center of the city. That day Banja Luka was very colourful, with kids dressed in red and yellow T-shirts, playing, dancing and singing together with their parents, friends and teachers. A number of journalists and visitors joined them to participate in a truly fun event.”
This year’s Mini Champions League was opened by Mayor of Banja Luka, Slobodan Gavranović and was organized with support from UEFA, Ford, UniCredit and MasterCard.
