Ford's Exciting Weekend Highlights at Auto China 2014

DATE: Will be calculated from "Release Start Date" field.

Dear Team:

Last week marked many major milestones for Ford and Lincoln in China!

With special guests Alan Mulally and Jim Farley, the team successfully launched the Lincoln brand in China to over 200 Chinese and international media. They announced that the company plans to bring five new Lincoln vehicles to China by 2016, which will be sold in 60 brand new Lincoln dealers in 50 cities across China. The feedback has been phenomenal.

We also made major announcements for the Ford brand. On Saturday afternoon, we celebrated the 50th anniversary of the iconic Ford Mustang with a major press event. And during the auto show, the public had the chance to get up close and personal with the all-new Ford Mustang, which is set for a highly anticipated 2015 China launch.

But the all-new Mustang wasn’t the only news at our auto show stand. We took this opportunity to globally unveil the all-new Ford Escort, a brand new compact car that was designed and built specifically for our Chinese customers. The Escort has been jointly developed by our Ford teams in Australia and Nanjing, and is set to go on sale in 2015. The Escort is sure to be the first of many Ford vehicles developed with Chinese drivers as its primary target.

We also gave the press a peek at the Ford Everest Concept, a medium, seven-seat off-road SUV that offers a glimpse of what customers can expect from Ford in the SUV segment. Created by the Asia Pacific design team, this concept vehicle is indicative of a vehicle that will be produced by JMC and distributed through JMC’s Ford-brand dealer network.

Thank you for your continued commitment to growing our business here in China. Last week’s events are the results of passion and hard work from our local and global teams. We’ll continue to post updates on @Ford Online,
and our social media platforms, which now include the newly launched WeChat accounts for Ford and Lincoln (Chinese language). To follow Ford and Lincoln on WeChat, please search “福特中国” and “林肯中国” in your WeChat account.
