COLOGNE, Germany - Fiesta and Ka enter the new model year in Germany with an extended range of features and options.
Completing the Fiesta range with production starting in July will be the special edition Fiesta S. The sporty 3-door hatchback will be available with either a 1.6-litre 134PS Ti-VCT petrol engine or a 1.6-litre TDCi diesel delivering 95PS. Among the car’s distinctive features are special chrome detailing, a roof spoiler, a sports suspension and premium alloy wheels. Inside, the Fiesta S features special leather upholstery with silver stitching plus alloy pedal cappings. The model will be available in a number of exterior colours.
Fiesta customers also benefit from a new interior colour scheme, plus two new exterior colour choices for the “Trend” and “Titanium” trim models. Both series have been extended for the new model year. The Fiesta Trend now offers a trip computer as standard, a leather steering wheel, front fog lights with chrome surround plus a new charcoal-coloured dashboard. Titanium models have been complemented by chrome bars on the upper front grille, new 15 inch alloy wheels as well as, on the interior, a new textile ceiling and silver applications.
The Fiesta ECOnetic also benefits from the latest modifications: thanks to an improved axle drive ratio, CO2 emissions of the 1.6-litre Duratorq engine are further reduced by 3 grammes to 95 g/km.
The Ka is becoming even more individual thanks to the premium “Digital” and “Metall” Individual packs which feature special coloured grille and mirror caps, decorative stripes and alloy wheels plus a colour-coordinated interior.
Also available for the Ka are two Select packages. The “Cool & Sound” package for Ka Trend models offers a CD-Radio audio system and air-conditioning system with pollen filter, while the “Sommer X” option for Titanium models includes a panoramic glass roof, head / shoulder airbags for the front seats and automatic climate control.
The Ka comes with a choice of two powertrains. The 1.2-litre 69 PS Duratec petrol engine achieves a combined cycle consumption of 4.9 litres per 100 kilometres and 115 g/km CO2. The 1.3-litre diesel with 75 PS consumes 4.1 l /100km emitting only 109 g/km CO2. Both versions are equipped with a standard start/stop-system and comply with Euro 5 emissions regulations.
