 Indonesian Celebrity Wins 'Start it. Share it. Win it' and Brings Home an All-New Ford Focus Titanium

JAKARTA, Indonesia — Bekti Indratomo, a well-known celebrity, has won an all-new Ford Focus Titanium 2.0L AT four-door sedan after he was declared the winner of the interactive and hugely successful 'Start it. Share it. Win it' campaign in Indonesia.
 
"I'm very happy to win the all-new Focus Titanium. Since the very first time I tried the many smart features of the all-new Focus, I have been very impressed with the car," said Bekti after Ford Motor Indonesia (FMI) announced he was the winner following one month of voting.
 
Winning the all-new Ford Focus was no easy feat, even for a celebrity like Bekti Indratomo. The margin of victory of only 142 votes – from a total of 11,489 votes cast for the ten finalists – showed that the other finalists were similarly aggressive in trying to win the smart car.
 
The voting battle was fought on social media channels, particularly Twitter and Facebook, as the finalists launched their strategies to secure as many votes as possible. Some even produced videos and set up a dedicated YouTube channel to get the edge.
 
"In addition to creating some posters and posting them on Facebook, I also produced a video starring my five-year old daughter to ask for votes. One of my colleagues even created her own video to support me. Both videos were quite a hit and helped boost my votes," said Henry Aryo, a supervisor for motion graphic design at CBN Indonesia, who registered the third highest tally in the contest.
 
However, Bekti Indratomo took the battle even further. In addition to using social media, set up a team to invite the help prompt the public to vote for him. The team organised various events and contests to accumulate further votes. All of his efforts finally paid off… just.
 
"I would like to thank all my supporters for their votes. Without them, I wouldn't stand a chance to win the all-new Focus," said Bekti, concluding his acceptance speech. "And as I promised at the beginning of the voting period, I will not let the chauffeur drive the car. I will drive the smart car myself."

The 'Start it. Share it. Win it' campaign generated almost 60,000 visits from Indonesia to the Ford Focus page on Facebook, as well as a total of 86,495 views for the participant videos.
 
The voting battle was fought fiercely on social media channels, particularly Twitter and Facebook, as the finalists launched their strategies to secure as many votes as possible.
