Ford Credit Employee Shares Experience with Breast Cancer

DEARBORN - When Anne Gyurnek turned 40, her primary care physician recommended that she have a baseline mammogram.  She had it done and didn’t think much about it until she received a call back from the doctor’s office telling her that the results looked suspicious and she needed to have the test repeated.

“I was shocked,” said Gyurnek, a senior test analyst at Ford Credit.  “I was a nervous wreck.  It was like I was in a dream.” Click here to continue reading.

Help Support Ford Warriors in Pink during Breast Cancer Awareness Month

DATE: Will be calculated from "Release Start Date" field.

DEARBORN - In recognition of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Ford Warriors in Pink will be visiting various Ford buildings throughout the month of October selling WIP merchandise.  All the net proceeds from wear and gear sales go to support the fight against breast cancer.

All sales will be conducted around lunch time.  Dates and locations include:
• Thursday, Oct. 17, at World Headquarters in the main lobby
• Thursday, Oct. 24, at the Product Development Center in the atrium
• Tuesday, Oct. 29, at Regent Court outside the cafeteria

The limited-edition WIP apparel and accessory items are available for women, men and children. Each item features important symbols signifying a message of hope, strength and unity in the commitment to fight breast cancer. To date WIP has generated $4,756,795 in donations from Warrior wear and gear sold since 2006.

This year, WIP joined with actor Gilles Marini to create a limited-edition T-shirt to add to the 2013 Warriors in Pink collection. A full 100 percent of the net proceeds from the T-shirt go to the Dr. Susan Love Research Foundation, dedicated to finding the cause of breast cancer in order to eliminate the disease and create a world without it.

Featuring the symbol of the warrior in the forefront, Marini’s design illustrates the fight it takes to battle breast cancer. The unisex V-neck T-shirt, in a deep heather gray, displays the words “Unis Par L’Amour,” French for “United with Love,” Marini’s native language. It represents a show of unity, strength and courage for those battling, those who will battle, and those otherwise affected by breast cancer.
