DEARBORN - On Thursday, Nov. 15, more than 2,000 of the company’s dealers across the U.S. will present a spectacular, one-night-only fundraising event called Go Further with Ford Night (GFWFN) that will benefit local charities and engage consumers in an unique American Idol® experience as well as offer them a personal introduction to the all-new 2013 Ford Fusion.
By attending Go Further with Ford Night, consumers will automatically raise $10 each for the local charity selected by the dealer or up to $500 per dealership.
As customary among its dealers, Ford is seeing lots of creativity and enthusiasm in making their GFWFN events uniquely their own. For example, Kidd Ford in Morrison, Tenn., is taking their event completely out of the dealership to visit Warren County Senior Citizen Center in a Thanksgiving Day themed event. Burlington Ford and Lincoln, in Colorado, is hosting a pig roast and other dealers are going as far as giving away free turkeys.
With the number of dealers registered for GFWFN events, Ford hopes to raise over $1 million in support of local charities. This windfall of support will benefit charities and nonprofits of all kinds as well as provide much-needed support to their constituents and their missions.
In addition, while at the dealership, consumers will have a unique opportunity to compete to win a new Fusion and separately to win a special VIP experience with American Idol. A computer with a webcam will be set up in the dealership to allow consumers to view a special message from Ryan Seacrest and test their judging skills on camera, in true American Idol style. The new season of American Idol premieres in January 2013 on FOX.
Ford dealers are known for their community involvement and philanthropy, but a concerted effort of this kind – and on a single day - certainly stands out.
The company expecting a lot of excitement and hopes employees and their families will join by registering at www.gofurtherwithfordnight2.com where they can find dealers who are hosting a GFWFN event in their area. Ford employees can attend GFWFN events, but unfortunately are not eligible for prizes at the dealerships. However, each employee who does attend an event, takes a photo at the event and submits that photo to @Ford Online via the Go Further submission tool by 5 p.m. ET on Nov. 20 will be entered into a raffle to win a Fusion mosaic T-shirt.
