Sustainability is globally defined as "meeting the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs” and typically refers to improving the environmental, social and economic dimensions.
It is not always easy to decide whether a new vehicle will be a step in this direction or not: If we developing a hybrid version with complex batteries or adding lightweight materials to our vehicles is the higher energy intensity in production nullifying the environmental benefits of such low CO2 vehicles? Or are the ownership-costs compromising the sustainability?
