DETROIT - June is proclaimed by the President of the United States as national LGBT pride month. Festivals are held around the country in celebration and recognition of LGBT history. Ford Gay, Lesbian and Bisexual Employees (GLOBE) joined record crowds at Motor City Pride, a riverfront festival held to celebrate Michigan’s Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender citizens.
The weekend-long festival, held at Hart Plaza in downtown Detroit, Mich., was filled with activities including a family picnic, golf outing, street parade and commitment ceremony. There were over 130 exhibits and five stages featuring live musical entertainment.
