DEARBORN - Employees' received a special treat Monday morning thanks to the latest Drive one Employee Experience event.
At Ford's World Headquarters, participants were welcomed via a videotaped greeting from Mark Fields, president, The Americas, who encouraged employees to participate in new ways in order to experience and learn about the 2012 Ford Focus.
Attendees also were invited to fill out a Focus trivia challenge which entered them into a lottery to drive an all-new Focus for a week.
However, Fields had another surprise to share with employees.
"Fulfilling on our promise to share our news with you first," said Fields. "You're about to get a sneak peak at what Ford will be revealing in just a few short weeks at the New York Auto Show."
Following the reveal, employees experienced the Focus first-hand in a unique driving course and also tried out Ford's active park assist technology.
What employees are saying about the event…
"It's exciting to see the new products," said Lynn Bishop, system engineer. "These programs are great."
"It was fun," said Dan Skielinik, network engineer. "The drive was great; active park assist was my favorite I've never seen that before, it worked awesome."
"I had a chance to work on this program. It was very nice to finally be able to drive one," said Robin Buseck, product design engineer. "So many people work on these cars and you work on different aspects and you never get to see the whole thing all together. Its jut really, really nice to see the whole thing and drive it"
"The cars are great," said Joe Pellegrino, supervisor. "Fun to drive, didn't squeal the tires on the turns, very responsive."
