BANGKOK, Thailand – In preparation for the launch of new Ford Fiesta this year, Ford Thailand announced a major commitment to expanding its dealer network and improving market availability and service facilities for its full lineup of vehicles.
With a plan to introduce one new dealership per month, Ford will double the number of its Bangkok outlets to 22 and expand its nationwide dealership network to 100 by the end of 2010.
Placing dealerships in close proximity to prime areas in Bangkok – conveniently located for customers – has been a core focus for Ford as the company continues to broaden its product lineup.
“Growing our dealership network, especially in Bangkok, enhancing the facilities and services available to our customers, and continuing to build a strong business, are areas of high priority as we gear up to launch the new Fiesta and expand our product portfolio in Thailand," said Ford Thailand Senior Vice President, Saroj Kiatfuengfoo.
“Our dealer expansion shows our commitment to growing the business and addressing the needs of our customers," added Ford Thailand Dealer Development Director, Narong Sritalayon. "The rapid expansion reflects the confidence among both our existing and new dealer principals in the Ford brand and our world-class vehicles."
Ford's showrooms and service facilities in Thailand have been developed in accordance to Ford’s global Brand@Retail standards, with meticulous attention to interior and exterior design detail in order to clearly communicate Ford's identity and unique brand image.
"We have invested more than THB 200 million (USD 6 million) over the past five years to improve our dealer facilities, while complying with the strict standards of our Brand@Retail programme," added Narong.
"We also spent THB 50 million (USD 1.5 million) to train more than 500 new dealership staff at all service levels to meet Ford’s global Quality Care standards over the past three years. The Quality Care programme helps to ensure the same high level of service and customer experience at every Ford-authorised showroom and service centre throughout the country," he concluded.
Ford is Thailand’s first automotive company to implement a global Quality Care standard. Presently, 90 percent of Ford facilities nationwide are certified by the Quality Care programme.
