MADRID, Spain - Ford Spain was prominent at the high profile Starlite Gala auction, staged in Marbella last weekend.
Among well-known guests attending the charity event were actors Eva Longoria and Antonio Banderas.
Cash raised was donated to three non-governmental organisations: Eva’s Heroes, Lágrimas & Favores and Niños en Alegría.
Ford Spain donated two Mondeo and S-MAX special editions designed especially for the event.
Both actors signed their cars and auctioned them in the Gala for a total of €80,000. Antonio Banderas liked his Mondeo so much that wanted to keep it, so his wife, Melanie Griffith, successfully bid for the car and gave it to him as a present.
Eva Longoria auctioned the S-MAX Titanium. Ford also donated a black Mondeo Berlina Titanium Econetic for Antonio Banderas to auction.
During the Gala, attended by other celebrities including Joseph Fiennes and Jermaine Jackson, several unique experiences were auctioned; Eva Longoria, for instance, auctioned a visit to the set of 'Desperate Housewives.'
Besides donating the cars, Ford Spain added extra excitement with a social media competition, offering two Facebook fans the chance to attend the Gala 'as stars.' Marisa Guaita and Mariano Zorrilla, from Puerto De Sagunto (Valencia), won the prize. To prepare them for mingling with the stars, the two were provided with a personal shopper and an exclusive make-up crew.
