 Ford Racing Weekend Results

DATE: Will be calculated from "Release Start Date" field.

Grand-Am KONI Series:

  • James Gue and Bret Seafuse, driver of the No. 37 Ford Mustang GT, won Sunday's season-ending Bosch Engineering Octoberfest at Virginia International Raceway.
  • Ford driver and Rehagen Racing co-driver Ken Wilden's sixth-place finish was enough to keep the points lead and take his first series title.
  • The team championship was also the first for Wilden's team, Rehagen Racing, and the second consecutive manufacturers' title for Ford, which defeated BMW by four points (348-344).
  • Chevrolet debuted its new Camaro in the KONI class, but it broke after two of the four hours in the race.

FIA GT3 Championship:
  • Thomas Mutsch and Walter Salles scored their first win of the 2009 season as the No. 1 Matech GT Racing Ford GT came through from 17th on the grid to take the checkered flag in Round 10 of the FIA GT3 European Championship.

NASCAR Sprint Cup Series:
  • Tony Stewart, Chevrolet, won Sunday's Price Chopper 400 at Kansas Motor Speedway, the third of the 10 races in the Chase for the Sprint Cup Championship.
  • It looked as though Greg Biffle, driver of the No. 16 Ford Fusion, was going to end his winless streak, but a decision to take four tires late in the final pit stop instead of two, he said, may have contributed to his third-place finish behind Tony Stewart and Jeff Gordon.   Biffle had led much of the later part of the race.
  • Carl Edwards, driver of the No. 99 Ford Fusion, overcame a pit-road speeding penalty on lap 56, which left him one lap down and in 33rd place, to finish in 10th place.
  • Ford driver standings in the Chase standings after the second race:
             - Greg Biffle 8th (-114)
             - Carl Edwards 10th (-165)
  • Other Ford drivers finishes at the Price Chopper 400 include: Bill Elliott (19th), Erik Darnell (29th), Paul Menard (30th), Jamie McMurray (31st), David Ragan (35th), and Matt Kenseth (37th).

NASCAR Nationwide Series:
  • Joey Logano, won Saturday's Kansas Lottery 300 at Kansas Motor Speedway.
  • Ford Racing had two drivers finish in the top 10: 5th-Greg Biffle, and 7th-Carl Edwards.
  • Currently there are two Ford drivers in the top 10 in point standings: 2nd-Carl Edwards (-245), and 7th-Jason Keller (-1,480).
