NASCAR Sprint Cup Series:
- Jimmie Johnson, Chevrolet, won Sunday's NASCAR Banking 500 at Lowes Motor Speedway, the fifth of the 10 races in the Chase for the Sprint Cup Championship.
- Matt Kenseth took advantage of a fourth-place qualifying effort to run up front all evening, finishing second. Kenseth led four times for 45 laps.
- For the second straight week Greg Biffle, driver of the No. 16 Fusion, was hit by another car sending him spinning through the infield grass. Biffle was able to recover and finish on the lead lap in 16th place.
- Carl Edwards, driver of the No. 99 Ford Fusion, struggled with a loose car from the beginning of the race and ran in the thirties all night until his engine finally let go on lap 300 sending him to the garage.

- Other Ford drivers finishes at the NASCAR Banking 500 include: David Ragan (20th), Paul Menard (27th), Bill Elliott (29th), Bobby Labonte (31st), and Jamie McMurray (33rd).
NASCAR Nationwide Series:
- Kyle Busch, Toyota, won Saturday's Dollar General 300 at Lowes Motor Speedway, his seventh of the season.
- Carl Edwards, driver of the No. 60 Ford Fusion, was the highest finishing Ford in fifth. Edwards is second in the series with four races left, and 195 points behind leader Kyle Busch.
Formula Drift Professional Championship Series:
- Vaughn Gittin Jr., driver of the No. 25 2010 Ford Mustang, finished the Formula Drift season this weekend in Irwindale, CA.
- Vaughn qualified 12th at Toyota Speedway, and ended his season in fifth place.
