NHRA Funny Car Series (Mustang)

  • Ashley Force Hood, driver of the Castrol GTX Ford Mustang Funny Car defeated her father and teammate John Force to win  the Mac Tools US Nationals in Indianapolis, the first race in the Countdown to One
  • The victory marks Force Hood's fourth career win and is the second year in a row she has won at US Nationals
  • Ford drivers and their final positions include; Bob Tasca III (lost to Matt Hagan in round two), Tim Wilkerson (lost to Jack Beckman in round one), and Robert Hight (lost to Paul Lee in round one).
  • Ford Racing driver point standings after the US Nationals: 1st- John Force (2206), 4th- Ashley Force Hood (2137), 5th- Robert Hight (2125), 7th-Bob Tasca III (2083), and 8th- Tim Wilkerson (2072)
  •  

    NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (Fusion)

  • Carl Edwards, driver of the No. 99 Fusion, was the highest finishing Ford, coming in second in the Emory Healthcare 500 at Atlanta Motor Speedway
  • Carl Edwards and Matt Kenseth ended up clinching berths in the 12-driver Chase to the Championship playoffs, while Greg Biffle needs to just start at Richmond to clinch his spot. Their standings are as follows: 5th-Carl Edwards (-297), 9th-Matt Kenseth (-360), and 11th-Greg Biffle (-475)
  • Top five finishers in Atlanta include: (1) Tony Stewart - Chevrolet; (2) Carl Edwards - Ford; (3) Jimmie Johnson - Chevrolet; (4) Jeff Burton. - Chevrolet; (5) Kyle Busch - Toyota.
  • Other Ford drivers finishing in the Top 20 in the race include: Matt Kenseth (11th), AJ Allmendinger (18th) David Ragan (19th), and David Gilliland (20th)
